Approve Driving Instructor Examination Exercises
Directory of Driving Instructors in UK. Lists driving schools and instructors within the UK and Ireland. Find fully qualified instructors by contacting some of the establishments listed in UK. If you are a provisional driving licence holder and require to commence learning to drive then contact driving instructors in your local area. Some approved driving instructors offer advice on CD-ROM's and books which are suitable to improve your learning and prepare you for the theory and hazard awarness tests.
The theory test is made up of two parts: the multiple choice part and the hazard perception part. You'll need to pass both parts to pass the theory test. On 3 September 2007 an updated theory test question bank came into force. The number of questions you'll be asked to answer in this touch screen computer test is 50 in 57 minutes. The pass mark for the multiple choice part of the theory test is 43 out of 50. The hazard perception part is a computer based test to assess how well you can recognise and respond to hazards on the road. The pass mark for the hazard perception test for car drivers is 44 out of 75.
The practical driving test is straightforward and has been designed to see if you can drive safely and are able to demonstrate your knowledge of The Highway Code through your driving. You will be required to carry out some manoeuvres such as reversing around a corner, turning the car round in the road, parking using reverse gear either in a car park or behind a parked vehicle on the road. To gain the necessary skills you will need the help of an Approved Driving Instructor
Professional lessons with an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) are an essential part of learning to drive.
It is important that learner drivers takes frequent, and regular professional lessons during their learning period. The lessons should be spread over a period of weeks and months, rather than crammed into a short intensive course.
The ideal number of lessons will vary for each learner, but there should be a significant number. Some research found that as many as 50 hours of professional instruction was required for average learners to be fully and consistently competent to conduct manoeuvres well in all the traffic situations they are likely to meet. Remember both your and your passenger's lives are at risk if you fail to drive competently. Better to spend money on learning to drive properly, because if you don't you will pay for it in other ways. i.e. accident repairs, higher insurance premiums and probably your life
If you intend augmenting your training with private lessons then get your accompanying driver to go through the various exercises of the Approved Driving Instructor Examination which can be found by navigationg the buttons above.
